Hello, Medwyn
Just had to write and tell you how much I am loving your latest wonderful composition, Knight. I no sooner played the first few bars on your website yesterday than I was downloading it and also I bought the CD, which arrived in super fast time this morning, for which I thank you.
I so love all your beautiful music and am always playing it, usually through my earphones so I can listen everywhere, even outside in the stables and yard! Thank you so very much.

Having now listened to ‘Knight’ several times, I agree that it does have shades of darkness not usually heard in Medwyn’s music. However, this isn’t heard throughout the CD. It is first really noiceable in the aply titled ‘Light and darkness’, and becomes more overt in ‘Wizard’s banquet’. The shadows then become much darker and dramatic in the next, very well-named track ‘Demons’. Those fans of Medwyn who have grown used to his lighter and more ambient style may well find this quite a departure. However, both mood and themes lighten thereafter and we return to more familiar Goodall soundscapes.
I’ve made no secret of the fact that although I have followed Medwyn ever since his ‘emergent’ days back in the mid 1980′s, my favourite recordings by him still include the original ‘Druid’ trilogy. ‘Knight’ strikes me as a fascinating development which I hope he will pursue in the future by exploring styles and possibilities that he describes as being ‘more cinematic and dramatic’. The future, I hope, looks both bright and dark.
